Red Carpet Oscar Winners

And the Oscar goes to…

The 2012 Oscars

Best Dressed Ladies on the red carpet

I don’t know about you, but I always tune into the Oscars before the actual awards begin to steak out the gorgeous gowns on the red carpet! Some of the dresses that really stood out this year were a dazzling white or classic black with embellishments.

Rooney Mara from “The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo” looked etherial in her white Givenchy Couture gown–the only accessory she doned was a red lip.

Best Supporting Actress nominee and winner (The Help had to win something!) Octavia Spencer looked dazzling in her off-white jeweled Tadashi Shoji gown that gathered at the waist. Spencer matched the dress with a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and Judith Leiber jewels.

Jessica Chastain, another best supporting actress nominee for “The Help”best looked ravishing and rich in her black-and-gold Alexander McQueen gown; speaking of rich, Chastain wore $2 million worth of yellow Harry Winston diamonds to accessorize her dress.

Rose Byrn looked stoic on the red carpet, letting her dress do all the talking. The “Bridesmaids” star shimmered in her one-shoulder, black sequined Vivienne Westwood dress. Byrn rocked her sleek bob and Jimmy Choo heels with the dress.

“Resident Evil” star Milla Jovovich was a knockout wearing this white Elie Saab Couture one-shoulder gown. Like Rooney Mara, Jovovich opted for a red lip to compliment her white gown.

Louise Roe, red carpet reporter chose a ruffled suit-like Black Halo gown for the show.  Some might argue that Roe’s accessories were a bit too much, but I thought the overall look, from the light pink gown to the sparkly clutch, belt, and hairpin looked amazing.

Even though black and white were big hits this year, there are two start who dared to rock a whole lot of color.

Emma Stone wore a statement dress designed by Giambattista Valli. This high necked couture gown  boasted a giant bow. Stone’s simple bun and Louis Vuitton jewels completed the look–who says redheads can’t wear red?

Last but not least, Michelle Williams, the “My Week With Marilyn” star and best actress nominee doned what she described as a coral Louis Vuitton dress.  Williams kept the accessories simple, complimenting the dress with a red lip and sparkly bow at the waist. (The only thing I didn’t care for was the pink clutch–too valentines day).

Out of all the stars, these ladies really shined while working the red carpet.
