Shop Stella & Dot

This past friday I invited my girlfriends and family over for appetizers, drinks and the opportunity to be personally styled by Jennifer Martzolf, from Stella & Dot! I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t love a good piece of jewelry more than myself, so hosting a trunk show was a no brainer.

I met Jennifer back in July while in attendance as a guest blogger at the #SassyCityChicks Chicago event. Jennifer was one of the vendors partaking in the shopping event, and was one of the first tables I stopped by to check out. I immediately fell in love with a few pieces while browsing and talking with Jennifer. I had only heard of Stella & Dot, but had no idea they were a jewelry line, let alone a very well known brand (Katy Perry, Nina Dobrev, Julliana Hough among many others have been photographed wearing the collection).

In preparation for my trunk show, Jennifer told me to make a wish-list for the items I wanted to order using my hostess rewards. Let me tell you, the list is quite long! One of the reasons I feel so attracted to this particular jewelry line over many others is the fact that Stella & Dot has a bit of a rocker edge to a majority of their pieces. Mixed metals are a huge trend this fall – whether you’re in need of stackable bracelets or prefer a statement necklace, you won’t be disappointed in what Stella & Dot has to offer you!

I have decided to leave my trunk show open until this Friday, September 20. I wanted to share my love and passion for this new jewelry line (which 8 out of 10 women have never heard of before) to spread the word. You can browse the Stella & Dot collection online and order 24/7 without having to attend or host a show. However, I would highly recommend inviting your girlfriends over for some wine, cheese and the opportunity to enjoy a private shopping event where everyone can try on these gorgeous pieces of jewelry in person.

My Stella & Dot Wish List
I am obsessing over the items on my wish list as I patiently wait for my trunk show close date. Some of the items I anticipate purchasing in addition to the hostess benefits include:
In addition to some amazing jewelry, Stella & Dot also has some kickass purses, wallets and scarves! My picks include:
If you would like to make a purchase as part of my trunk show, follow the link below (closing date is Friday, Septemeber 20):

The founders of NastyGal have released their first ever shoe collection! Shoe Cult is now available to shop world wide. From comfy flats, colorful pumps to rough and tough biker influences, the collection has something for everyone.

Cute and Comfy
Flats are easy to slip on and are a much more fashionable option rather than sneakers. A few of my favorite #ShoeCult flats that will work for now and well into fall include:

Pumped up!
There’s nothing that can make a woman feel more sexy than a good pair of heels! Check out these fabulous pumps from #ShoeCult, perfect for girls night or date night:

Bootieliscious!
There is nothing I love more during the fall than a good pair of booties! Luckily, #ShoeCult has a whole lot of bootielisious shoes to love. I am dying to add these to my fall 2013 wardrobe:

“Memoires de Paris” by Chloe & Isabel

If there is one place I have been obsessed with my entire life, it’s the City of Lights. Whenever anyone asks me the question, “where would your dream vacation be,” the answer is Paris. I may not be traveling to Europe any time soon, but “Memoires de Paris” fall jewelry collection from Chloe & Isabel can help transport my wardrobe from Americana to Parisian chic.

Le Rococo
There is a lot to love from Chloe & Isabel’s new jewelry line. The intricacy put into each piece, mixed metal designs and jewel tone stones are the perfect pieces to help transition your wardrobe from summer to fall. If you’re looking for a little romance in your life, you will definitely fall in love with the Le Rococo Statement Collar Necklace. Pair the necklace with the gorgeous Le Rococo Post Drop Earrings for date night or the Le Rococo Petite Drop Earrings for day time.

Jardins du Trocadero
If you’re in the mood for something with a little more edge to it, the Jardins du Trocadero pieces may be right up your alley. I would pair the Jardins du Trocadero Statement Bracelet with the Jardins du Trocadero Post Drop Earrings with an LBD. The Jardins du Trocadero Long Pendant and Round Emerald Stud Earrings would look exceptional with a white t-shirt, boyfriend jeans and booties.

Sunset on the Seine
The Sunset on the Seine pieces are my favorite from the overall “Memoires de Paris” collection. I absolutely adore the juxtaposition between femininity and edginess in the Sunset on the Seine Leather Bracelet. I would also love to add the Sunset on the Seine Statement Studs and the Sunset on the Seine Cluster Ring to my personal jewelry collection!

More to love
Other pieces worth noting from Chloe & Isabel’s fall line include the Le Rococo Stackable Rings, Jardins du Trocadero Two-Row Necklace and the Sunset on the Seine Collar Necklace. Two other items that really stood out to me while browsing through the collection include the Filigree + Pearl Stretch Bracelet and Starburst + Seed Pearl Long Pendant.

I am hoping to meet up with a Chloe & Isabel consultant at their new showroom to try on some of these fabulous items! Leave a comment below and let me know what your must-have pieces from “Memoires de Paris” are!

Now and Later: Florals

Many women think florals and fall don’t go well together, but that petal prints are only for spring and summer. The truth is, you can do floral in the fall.

#OOTD Fall Florals
The key to pulling off the look is to pair your floral item with darker colors. For example:

A navy blazer and emerald bowler bag tone down the bright floral pattern on the skirt and the orange shirt I paired with it.

#OOTD For the End of Summer
Since summer isn’t over yet, at least not according to the Chicago weather forecast this week, I would ditch the blazer to keep cool in the heat! Pair the skirt with a bright top and use a wide belt to break up the two pieces.

Even though we took these photos on a cool day a few weeks ago, I would definitely wear this #OOTD this week to keep cool during a walk in the park. Here’s a few more fashion photos from our shoot:

Gold accessories are the perfect accent to this warm weather look. Even though I am definitely not as tan as I would like to be, this particular metal still looks good with my (somewhat pale) skin tone.

Fall Fashion Preview

We’ve hardly had a summer here in Chicago. Temperatures here in the Windy City have been quite mild and to be honest, I’ve been very disappointed I haven’t been able to wear more shorts, tank tops or lounge around in my bikini by the pool. Alas, this morning I went to let out or new puppy and was actually shivering while I waited for her to do her business. Since time isn’t slowing down, and I don’t foresee ninety degree weather in the near future, I thought it was time to start talking #FallFashion.

#OOTD
There is nothing I love more than a good pair of dark wash skinny jeans, a leather jacket and some chic ankle booties! Fall fashion is all about layering esthetics, which can sometimes be difficult to master. When you’re styling your fall wardrobe, keep light weight items in rotation, even as the weather cools down.

A floral print scarf or leather jacket can easily be taken off or added on to your basic jeans and t-shirt to keep you warm and cozy or removed to stay cool as a warm front passes through. Keep in mind that florals aren’t just for spring. A muted color palette, such as the grey, navy and cranberry colors seen on this Forever21 scarf are a perfect transition from lightweight summer to fall.

Pairing Neutrals and Accessories
To counter the deep wash of these BCBG Max Azria jeans, I decided to style the rest of my #OOTD with light neutrals to warm up the look. Even though the shades of my taupe suede ankle booties and leather jacket aren’t necessarily a perfect match, they complement one another nicely. The white t-shirt offers a clean palette, allowing the printed scarf and leather jacket to pop.

The silver zipper details on my leather jacket called for silver jewelry. I am a sucker for a good cuff bracelet and I thought my oval (faux) diamond ring from Lia Sophia was the perfect accent to this look. Sunglasses are always in style, and I am of course wearing my favorite pair to complete the look!
